Many thousands of migrating birds were reported today.

Great White Egret - 1 Poole.
Honey Buzzard - 1 over Poole.
Marsh Harrier - 1 Lytchett Bay.
MONTAGU'S HARRIER - a dark-morph male came in off the sea at Ferrybridge.
BLACK KITE - 1 possible at Cocknowle.
Red Kite - 1 Bournemouth Queen's Park, 5+ Cocknowle, 1 Friar Waddon, 4 over Lytchett Bay, 1 over Poole, 6 west of Portesham, 1 Slepe Heath, 2 over Wareham.
Osprey - 1 NE over Lodmoor, 1 north over Lytchett Bay, 1 Wareham Channel.
Merlin - 1 Portland (Reap Lane).
Hobby - 4 Arne Moors, 1-2 Cocknowle, 1-2 Dorchester.
Whimbrel - 5 Lytchett Bay.
Cuckoo - 1 Holt Heath, 1 Morden Bog, 1 Stanpit.
Spotted Flycatcher - 1 Bincombe, 3 Ferrybridge, 2 Portland (Reap Lane).
Whinchat - 1 Bincombe, 1 Ferrybridge, 4 nr Friar Waddon, 2 Portland (Reap Lane).
Redstart - 1 Cocknowle, 1 Ferrybridge.
Lesser Whitethroat - 1 Hengistbury Head, 1 Talbot Heath.
Firecrest - 1 Talbot Woods.
