Navitus Bay Windfarm - your last chance to comment

REGISTER AS AN “INTERESTED PARTY” IN THE NAVITUS BAY PLANNING APPLICATION

DEADLINE: Monday 23rd June 2014

The Navitus Bay Wind farm is about to be examined by Government Inspectors. All members of the public, businesses and organisations have just ONE last chance to influence the decision, by registering as an “Interested Party”. This is the ONLY WAY left for you to give your feedback on the final version of the proposal. Your form must be received by Monday 23rd June. Previous correspondence is not relevant to this final stage. Registration is the only way to establish your legal right to be involved in the process and have your views taken into account.

1. GET THE REGISTRATION FORM
ONLINE: At http://tinyurl.com/nbayportal
OR BY PHONE: Tel: 0303-444-5000 to request a paper copy of the form

2. FILL IN THE FORM, WHICH HAS 4 PARTS
ABOUT YOU: including your address and status (individual or an organisation). If you are a member of an organisation, you can register separately if you have personal opinions.
If you have a short address and don't need to fill in Address line 2, enter a hyphen/dash.
INTEREST IN LAND: Not relevant for most people, unless you own land directly involved in the development.
YOUR REPRESENTATION: aim to limit to less than 500 words
 If you support or object, say so clearly.
 Briefly summarise what you consider the main issues to be, and their impact.
 You do not need to be a technical expert but e.g. you may have valuable local knowledge.
 Just explain how, if built, this windfarm may affect you or your business, the environment and wildlife.
Keep it relevant - the Planning Inspectorate is not allowed to consider representations about Government policy e.g. the principle of windfarms. However you can comment about the details of this scheme such as the location, environmental effects, economic impact, wildlife and habitats, safety (e.g. navigation, pollution), disruption during construction, and overall balance of benefits against (direct or indirect) costs. You can expand on issues later in the examination – as a “written representation” if you wish to do so. However you need to summarise or list the issues that concern you NOW. This information will be used by the Planning Inspectorate to carry out their initial assessment, to identify the principal issues and to decide the best way to examine the application.
